(Greek μίμησις)
Mimesis refers to the imitation or representation of reality in art and literature, where creative work mirrors, re‑presents, or interprets life rather than simply copying it.

The Class of 2025 is one of the smallest, yet one of the tightest knit and innovative groups of Graphic Design majors in the program’s history, and we worked hard to bring this exhibition to life. We are made up of all different walks of life, some transfers, some of us have been here all 4 years– in the end, though, It would not have been possible without the collaboration and cooperation of all the students in the program, and our incredible instructors and faculty.
Thanks to the various people who made this possible, including but not limited to: Matt Patti, Lori Rubeling, Chris Metzger, Jennifer White-Johnson, George Moore and Dean Amanda Hostalka.
Why "Mimesis"
The Process
Over the past few months, we have made posters, social media posts, and documented our individual projects, making sure that every detail was accounted for and that the exhibition went off without a hitch.
We were so ahead of schedule that nobody was stressed or overwhelmed last minute, and we had extra time to add polish and poise to our projects and the exhibition space. As far as we are aware, this is a first in the program’s history, owing to Chris’ excellent restructuring of the program and how it works.
